To Chris and others, Anyone looking for Sun Ra philosophy beyond the Immeasurable Equation (as if that weren't hard enough to find) must write to Omni Press, P.O. Box 786, Millbrae CA 94030. Sun Ra Research (12 so far) and Sun Ra Quarterly (5 so far) both consist mainly of interveiws with Sun Ra and his musicians. I have found these to be extremely helpful. As far as secondary material goes, Sun Ra was a prodigeous reader: philosophy both ancient and modern, psychology (including Jung and Freud) and detective stories (|). In "A Joyful Noise" he mentions specifically the ancient Greeks as a foundation for his thought. He may contradict that elsewhere. And it seems likely he read a lot of material on Ancient Egypt. In other words, it would take a long time to even cover the basics of Sun Ra's literary background, and a lifetime to assimilate it in depth. Some time ago, someone on this list declared that there should be whole institutions devoted to the study of "The Immeasurable Equation".
