Sun Ra Arkestra at Detroit Jazz Festival

The Sun Ra Arkestra under the direction of Marshall Allen has returned from the Field Day Festival in London and will be appearing Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Detroit Jazz Festival, Detroit, MI.  The Arkestra will perform 7:00 - 8:15 pm at the Ampitheatre Stage adjacent to Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit.  This show is free to the public.  Additional information about the Detroit Jazz Festival can be found at:
 
 
There will be a memorial service for Sun Ra Arkestra violinist Billy Bang on Monday, September 19, 2011 6:00 pm at St. Peter's Church, 619 Lexington Ave. @ 54th Street, New York, NY.  There will be a reception following after the program that will begin no later than 9:30 pm.  For additional information about St. Peter's Church, please visit:
