Sistas' Place/Akua Dixon's Quartette Indigo with Dinah

Sistas' Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue at Jefferson Avenue (where Jazz:=A0 A Mus= ic=20 of the Spirit Lives and Culture is a Weapon), continues its 10th anniversary= =20 celebration with a performance by Akua Dixon's Swing Quartette Indigo plus=20 pianist Dinah Vero.

Brilliant cellist composer/arranger and bandleader Akua Dixon has worked at=20 Sistas' Place many times with her swing string quartet featuring violin, vio= la,=20 bass. She has willingly collaborated with some of the masters of the music=20 such as Gary Bartz, Sonny Fortune, Cecil Bridgewater, James Spaulding and he= r=20 husband Steve Turre. On this occasion she will augment her quartet with drum= s=20 and collaborate with the amazing pianist from Montreal, Dinah Vero. This wil= l be=20 a very exciting and special night. Don't miss it!
