Sorry, I emailed him and he said that he sold everything to Orpheus in Washington, DC on M street in Georgetown(if they're still in the same location).
Actually, I wish I had gotten a first look into it... Well, sometimes it's just best not to know... woulda burnt a hole in my wallet.

Dave does your friend still have some vinyl for sale, I buy lots of records in bulk. Please passa my number along to him if he does as I'm in Philly and
can easily road trip to DC for vinyl!

Hey, I am new to the list.
That sounds fantastic. I also live for those moments. My buddy owned a record store in the Metro DC area since 1974 or so and I worked there periodically part time over the years. He opened a second store in the city and then opened a club/record store in the suburbs. He had a good time, but in the long run, the club drained his finances and he just gave it up last month. He specialized in vinyl and was one of only a couple of stores left that still had some. He is a good friend and I credit him with helping me to build my jazz collection into close to 3000 records and CDs. Buying collections was so awesome. I just picked out the stuff that I wanted out of it and just lived to collect. I hardly got a paycheck at all.
I have been into Sun Ra since seeing him in the early 80s. I have close to 30 Sun Ra LPs and CDs and got a couple of LPs signed by him the year before he died. I got to see them 6 times over the years and each time was so valuable. I particularly loved June Tyson and was very disappointed when she died. I am looking forward to the new reissues coming out.
I would love to get some tapes of live shows. I don't have any to trade myself, but if anyone knows where to pick some up, that would be great. I could only trade tapes of LPs and CDs. I do have two of the Saturn LPs bought at a show.
Sorry about the longwinded message. Thanks for the listserve.
