Sistas' Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue at Jefferson Avenue (where Jazz:=C2= =A0 A=20 Music of the Spirit Lives and Culture is a Weapon), presents=C2=A0Ahmed= Abdullah's=20 Diaspora featuring saxophonist Salim Washington, pianist D.D.Jackson,=20 bassist Radu, drummer Brandon Lewis with poet/vocalist Monique Ngozi Nri= and=20 poet Louis Reyes Rivera.=C2=A0Showtimes at 9 and 10:30pm on December 12,= 2009.=C2=A0 =20 =20 =20 Trumpeter, Ahmed Abdullah is certainly no stranger to Sistas' Place. On= =20 Saturday, December 12th,=C2=A0his group Diaspora (Dispersions of the Spi= rit of Ra)=20 will perform two sets of music. The first set will be instrumental and= the=20 second set will be a combination of=C2=A0poetry, vocals and music. Abdul= lah has=20 been a bandleader and educator for several decades.
