Here is information on Dr. Schoch and his latest book. The specifics on West's theories are most eloquently expressed by West and Schoch on the video "Mystery of the Sphinx". I would imagine any decent video store would have it, unless the store happens to be run by orthodox egyptologists!

There is a whole new school evolving called Khemetology. KMT (Khemet) is what the Egyptians call ancient Egypt. Khemetology parts from Egyptology (basically a British overlay) by following the work of french Hermeticist and Symbolist Schwaller de Lubicz (his massive two-volume tome "The Temple of Man" is now finally available for the first time in English translation) and many others who feel that the monuments of Egypt are the last best evidence of a grand civilization and culture far beyond our own. Their mastery of a "sacred science" (the title of another Schwaller book) is just beginning to be grasped.

Just as Schoch is implying cyclical and catostrophic geology, the same may be true for "civilizations". The theory is that we are currently enjoying, not the PEAK of civilization, but one of many waves that have peaked and receded into antiquity...this has always been the esoteric and mystical point of view, and it appears science is beginning to agree...

"Proof" of course is tricky. The farther back we go, the more muddy things get (literally and figuratively).
