Don't know if this counts as jazz/poetry performances (since that "movement" didn't really start until the 1950's) but lyrics of tunes were often recited instead of sung on records dating from the 1920's at least (maybe older). Some of the lyrics could count as "poetry" and if they're recited instead of sung, how would that differ from the "Jazz/poetry" phenomenon? Incidentally, the same could be said of "rap" as many early jazz records have comedy dialogue delivered in a jazzy, metered rhyme...
