Re: Michael Ray & the Krewe

I just read a nice article on Ray and the band in the newest Off Beat, a New Orleans publication that's available in some Tower Records stores. (I got mine in New York) It talks about Ray's relationship with Sun Ra and it has a nice photo of Ray and Ra in Istanbul. You can't miss Ray on the cover. He mentions in the article that the group is working on some new tracks for a compilation promo CD for a fundraising drive in New Orleans. Don, can you shed any more light on this? You are also mentioned, so you might want to get a copy :) (Thanks for the tour dates- any hope of the group playing in Tuscaloosa or Birmingham again soon?) For any Saturnites who might be in New Orleans celebrating with the Anne Rice fans, Ray has been working with a well known neon sculpture artist, who has made neon that shifts colors with the music. The Halloween show at Margaritaville is supposed to be quite impressive and in the spirit of the occasion.
