The GWL destroys other cultures then in remorse seeks to memorialize them in concrete mausoluems called museums.

Conserving the memory of cultures destroyed by European culture isn't the equivalent of its destruction. Of course, it depends on how the culture is preserved.

This isn't a zero sum game - If there was a permanent location to house the memory (i.e. work) of Herman Blount (let's look for an apparently less charged label to replace the GWL word "museum") it could only serve to help to preserve his work and increase the possibilities for diffusion of the current band lead by Marshall in addition to insuring that his music stays available and is listened to by (more) new ears. Where's the problem? Of course where we're in agreement is that the main question is if Marshall's into it. I don't really think that anyone would (could/should) impose this on him=85 and if if it is his will to pursue such a direction all of us who appreciate Sun Ra should support him.

The GWL destroys other cultures then in remorse seeks to memorialize them in concrete mausoluems called museums. The GWL is also a collector. Collectors wish to gather everything, to accumulate things in order that they may achieve domination of an item, a= n idea, a people. The GWL also has the money to do this, at least before Bernie Madoff the GWL did, donations from those who dined in tuxedos and silks, sipping wine amidst plundered treasures in their concrete tombs, museums. I am amused by the presumptions of many who claim to know or are trying t= o know what Sun Ra wanted. Ain't but one group of people who know that, tho= se who played with him, the Arkestra, Sun Ra's people!! None of us who were never in the band can have any clue to what Sun Ra wanted. Sure we bought the records, went to the concerts, listened to Sunny speak, but we were never in the inner circle. We don't have a clue. Establish a museum says the GWL. WHY? To assuage our conscience? To trap beauty and cage it in concrete? Ideas, concepts are meant to flow, like water, like music.
