Re: What's the best Sun Ra Album?

I just purchased Heliocentric Worlds vol 1 & 2 and was blown away by Sun Ra's brilliance. What should I get next?

Anyone who appreciates the two Heliocentric Worlds volumes must immediately get ahold of The Magic City (Evidence). I hear it as the culmination of that period of composed-improvisation.

After that, begin checking out Sun Ra's many other styles - most of what's on Evidence precedes the Heliocentric period. From a couple years earlier, two great recordings are Fate in a Pleasant Mood and We Travel the Spaceways (both on Evidence).
