Studios, I thought perhaps some of the collectors on
the list could provide some information for me
size="-1"> about Sheldon matrix numbers.
I recently picked up a
size="-1">record pressed at Sheldon, and I'm
trying to get an idea of when
the record was pressed, and for that matter,
whether the matrix numbers on the record
were generated by Sheldon. I
size="-1"> did come
across a website which
gave the following information:

class="size10 Helvetica10"
color="#FCA705" face="Helvetica,
Arial, sans-serif">Their name is
often mistaken as Shelton due to
the italic script they used.
Records that were mastered /
plated by "

Arial, sans-serif">Sheldon
class="size10 Helvetica10"
color="#FCA705" face="Helvetica,
Arial, sans-serif">" bear the
stamp. If Sheldon pressed the

always found in the dead wax (S

With that
having been said, the record I
have clearly has the "Sheldon"
script in the dead wax
size="-1">. Both
the label and the dead wa
size="-1">x give a matri
size="-1">x number of 6154
A [6154 B on the B side
size="-1">]
size="-1">, which
follows
a four-digit scheme
but
does not
completely conform
to the "S 4355"
style mentioned
above. Does this
look like a valid
Sheldon matrix
number
size="-1">, and
if so, is there
any way of
establish
size="-1">ing
a date from
it?
