A friend who was playing free jazz-towards free improv. in the mid.60s told me how influential the incoming ESPs like New York Art Quartet and the sparseness of the Heliocentric Worlds was on him. He was shocked when the Arkestra eventually came to London and he saw the extent to which Ra directed who played when, which somehow hadn't been expected...

I did once ask Eddie Prevost about the extent of the crossplay between AMM and the early Pink Floyd, but he wasn't very forthcoming; the influence in that direction probably isn't very interesting/important from his viewpoint.
