"The Singles" On MTV

Well, it's the baseball playoffs which means I get to spend lots of time channel surfing between innings. So I stop by my good old friend MTV and they're doing that pointless MTV News thing. Lo and behold, what do we have but Kurt Loder recommending Sun Ra: The Singles, noting that Ra influenced bands from Pink Floyd (huh?) to Sonic Youth (huh?).

Most of us have heard about the Sonic Youth connection, but the Floyd reference was a new one for me, too.
