sun ra - the bridge rocket no. 9 single
i thought this was an interesting item to mention, not only for the
rarity, but also for where it appears...

The Bridge b/w Rocket #9
Interesting story about this single, of which very few copies are known. (The later, one-sided reissue of "The Bridge" is quite a bit easier to find.) The seller also had several original Saturn LPs for sale.
A guy i know who collects R&B saw the listing and wondered whether the minimum bid wasn't too high.
It wasn't. The winning bid was upwards of $1200.

:-) for something that is out on a CD? sheesh! :-)
i do understand the what and why of collecting, so i am glad that it
sounds like that item went to a good home. i thought it was an
interesting bit of recording history that that particular item was
used for the CD release.

Clarification
Sorry, I didn't check the online source before posting.
The single went up for auction on ebay recently, and the reported price is the winning bid.
The seller had set the minimum bid at $299.99.
