MF Doom's track 'Shadows of Tomorrow' from album Madvillainy also includes some snippets of the great man speaking. D

Hi John

There are no tracks to speak of on the Cage/Ra LP. There are five segments but they are not banded. The segments alternate between Sun Ra performing keyboard improvisation and John Cage performing vocal improvisation. Sun Ra joins in with some very brief, very sparse keyboard during one of John's vocal segments.

The Japanese DIW release Live at Soundscape includes a second disc of Sun Ra giving a lecture.

Hi Folks, Im a newbie here so hi and a big up to all you seasoned Ra-ists! Im a radio producer/engineer for Australian government radio We are currently researching material for inclusion in some Sun Ra radio features. I was wondering if there's any more track details for the John Cage and Sun Ra recordings? Also I would be ultra keen to track down any audio of interviews with Sun Ra or any snippets of him speaking. So any leads in this direction would be much appreciated. Cheerio, John Jacobs

i found these someone had posted as mp3s:

thanks for the pointer!

  1. John Cage Meets Sun Ra, Side A 3

  2. John Cage Meets Sun Ra, Side B 3

the first mp3 file is fine. the second one has some major problems with it - it has some really LOUD blips that are way oversaturated.
