Update: scores project progress

Hello All:

I want to update you all on the progress of the Sun Ra scores project. I have 30 confirmed donations (ie. donations sent to me). The copy center has the master set and are in the process of copying them. I expect them to take several days, so hopefully by the end of the week, I'll have the sets. I'll pack them and mail them asap, probably early next week if no glitches occur.

As I noted earlier, I will use some of the proceeds for copy costs and mailing, and the rest will be sent to the Arkestra at the Philly address. Perhaps they can use the monies to help purchase a new trombone for Tyrone Hill? I have no idea how much a new instrument costs, but these donations are meant to be used for whatever the Arkestra deems worthy.

I appreciate your cooperation. This round has run extremely smoothly so far (I guess after doing this three times, I learned a few time-savers!). I will post a note on the day the packages are mailed out.

If you would like your name to be listed on the cover letter, please let me know. Otherwise I just write that the donations were received from people who appreciate all the work, and music, the Arkestra has contributed over the years.
