I've finally got my copy of The Great Lost Sun Ra Albums: Cymbals & Crystal Spears", let me say that along with The Antique Blacks, I think they are the best of Sun Ra's eary '70's output. I've had a copy of these two records on tape, but to hear the fidelity of the CD release has definitely blown me away!
Anyway, in reading RLC's liner notes, I see he mentions Ebah's force retirement due allegedly to "serious mental problems". Does anyone on the list have any biographical information on Ebah? What was the nature of his alleged mental condition? I've always enjoyed Ebah's playing and vocal perfomances, and found them somewhat dark and a little scary. If anyone could share some information on Ebah, I would be greatly appreciatitve.
Thanks,
James
