Upcoming Istanbul Jazz Festival

Hello everybody,

Here are some information for the upcoming Istanbul jazz festival, namely the 5th International Akbank Jazz Festival Schedule.

Here is the letter that I just received :

Our company Pozitif Productions will be organizing the 5th Akbank International Jazz Festival between 4 thru th 14th of October, 1995.

The festival will take place at various venues in Istanbul. Attached is a schedule of concerts.

The festival also includes a photography exhibition by Cem Akkan. Mr. Akkan is an artist residing in Istanbul and Berlin and has been taking jazz photos since 1981.

Also include in the festival are public speeches by Anthony Braxton, Sheila Jordan, Matthew Shipp, Ilhan Ersahin and Can Kozlu.

There will also be videos and films of some of the past jazz legends.

Roxy Club at the heart of Istanbul will be festival club where local jazz artists will join the guest artist for the duration of the festival.
