OT: Sheldon Recording Studios matrix numbers

http-equiv="Content-Type">

Hi
everybody,

I know this is off-topic, but
since some of Sun Ra's size="-1">records were pressed by Sheldon Recording
Studios, I thought perhaps some of the collectors on
the list could provide some information for me size="-1"> about Sheldon matrix numbers.

I recently picked up a size="-1">record pressed at Sheldon, and I'm
trying to get an idea of when
the record was pressed, and for that matter,
whether the matrix numbers on the record
were generated by Sheldon. I size="-1"> did come
across a website which
gave the following information:

size="-1"> size="-1"> size="-1"> size="-1"> class="size10 Helvetica10"
color="#FCA705" face="Helvetica,
Arial, sans-serif">Their name is
often mistaken as Shelton due to
the italic script they used.
Records that were mastered /
plated by "
class="size10 Helvetica10"
color="#FCA705" face="Helvetica,
Arial, sans-serif">Sheldon
class="size10 Helvetica10"
color="#FCA705" face="Helvetica,
Arial, sans-serif">" bear the
stamp. If Sheldon pressed the
record, then there will be a three
or four digit matrix number that
can appear on the label, but is
always found in the dead wax (S
4355).

With that
having been said, the record I
have clearly has the "Sheldon"
script in the dead wax size="-1">. Both
the label and the dead wa size="-1">x give a matri size="-1">x number of 6154
A [6154 B on the B side size="-1">] size="-1">, which
follows
a four-digit scheme
but
does not
completely conform
to the "S 4355"
style mentioned
above. Does this
look like a valid
Sheldon matrix
number size="-1">, and
if so, is there
any way of
establish size="-1">ing
a date from
it?
